Where my heart leads me...

Hi everyone, I know it’s been a few days since I’ve posted, but somehow, a Father’s Day Weekend camping trip, and special orders got in the way…absolutely no complaints!

I’ve been thinking lately about my art and where I really want it to go. Do I want to be just another artist, languishing in their studio each day, painting pictures I hope people will buy, or do I truly want to paint from my heart, paint what I feel God has called me to do?

The honest answer is both, but my soul cries out for something more, something meaningful, something lasting. Therefore, I’ve made a decision to focus on my doors and allow them to take my business where they will.

My painted doors are the reason I quit my job as an insurance agent and started my own company.

The first 40 years of my life were not the best, although there were some true blessings mixed in (I’ll share my story soon) and my biggest prayer, my only hope through those dark days was that I’d have a consistent roof over my head, and be able to go to the grocery store without counting pennies. I now have both. I have no desire for wealth, I only want others to feel this same contentment and peace in life that I do.

So, the big question is this, how do you get there? How do you wake up each morning knowing that you are blessed, you are loved, you are important?

My door paintings won’t make your dreams come true, but, they can absolutely serve as a reminder that we get one life, we will die, and the biggest question is how many regrets will go with us?

Each door comes framed, tagged with an inspirational saying and decorated with a key. The key is a reminder that we should never be afraid to unlock our lives and step through the threshold.
